About Us

Minnesota native Mel Aho began building houses in 1977 and founded Aho Construction 10 years later in Vancouver, Washington. After building numerous neighborhoods in southwest Washington, we gradually expanded to communities across the state and in 2004 established subsidiary Aho Northwest in Minnesota and South Dakota.  To date, our company has sold more than 9,000 new homes.

Aho Northwest's highly skilled employees and select subcontractors bring Mel's innovative techniques that streamlined building process to Minnesota and South Dakota.  Using quality materials and meeting rigorous standards, Aho Northwest works to deliver a superior home in the shortest time at the best possible price.

We offer a variety of floor plans and a growing selection of options that meet the needs of a broad spectrum of homebuyers, whether seeking an affordable home with basic features or an upgraded home with amenities.

Aho Construction and Aho Northwest build homes where people are looking for livable neighborhoods. We work with communities that want to grow, attracting new residents and giving renters the opportunity for attainable home ownership. Our neighborhoods draw supporting businesses and assist in building vibrant communities.

Whatever your goal, ours is to make you a satisfied homeowner.
